Cat Bathing
Cat Bathing can be a chore, as most cats don't like the water much at all.
When bathing a cat, here are some things you will need to do:

- Have the proper shampoo
- Have some towels near by
- Check water temperature (use cool water, not to hot or not to cold)
- Place something like a bath mat in your tub. Cats like to dig their toes into something.
- Brush
Instructions Before Bathing:
Before starting the bathing process, make sure you trim all the nails of the cat. This helps reduce the risk of getting a bad scratch.
Brush your cat thoroughly, especially if it is long haired before giving bath to the cat. This helps to get the loose hair out so there is not a lot in the water during the bath.
It is also important to have everything strategically placed in the bathing area, so you can keep one hand on the cat at all times and not walking away to get something.
Place the cat in the tub, sink or shower and gentle put some water on the cat's back. This allows the cat to know what is happening before you get to much water on him.
Shampoo the cat's back, work down the sides, lather up the tail, work your hands gentle under the tummy and butt. Use a cloth to clean the head and around the face. Rinse with clean water, rinse until you no longer see or feel any shampoo.
Towel dry your cat by patting the towel all around the hair. Wrap the towel securely around the cat a place into a kitty crate or blow dry.
Brush the coat to remove any loose hair. spray with coat conditioner made for cats and enjoy a fresh smelling kitty.

Pet Grooming Tip - Bathing a Puppy
On the Process of Bathing a Puppy
When you need the bathe your dog there are a few things to keep in mind.
It need not to be a chore, it's a time for bonding and can be a lot of fun. It is a time set aside to show him or her how much you care. After all, a clean pet is a happy pet. To feel clean makes your pet want to run and be playful, to roll around the floor, to jump and wag their tails. Bosco, my dog, loves the feel of being groomed and washed, he does all of the above and truly changes his composure. I love It....
When you start bathing your dog as a puppy, be gentle and speak soft words to him so to make him feel safe. Start with a small amount of water poured over his back and then add a dab of shampoo such as Isle Of Dogs or a dog shampoo with natural essential oils to his coat. With a tender touch, work the shampoo into a lather and rub away the dirt. Continue this process until you have completely covered the entire dog. In doing this I must emphasis to pay close attention to not get any shampoo in the pups eyes, ears and nose. Let the shampoo sit for a few minutes in order to let the natural oils sink into the coat. Rinse the shampoo out of the coat and rinse again until you know longer see any suds. After that, guess what? rinse again, it is so very important to get all the shampoo out of the coat. Wipe the water off the body, use your hands to gentle squeeze the water off the legs and tail. Wrap a clean white towel around your puppy and dry the hair.
Result.... one clean, squeaky, great smelling puppy to cuddle and enjoy.

Les Poochs Brushes
Les Poochs Brushes are the greatest I have ever used. They are expensive but last so much longer than the cheap look-alike's that are showing up in grooming catalogs and pet stores. These are easy to use and do not damage the hair. This the the proper way in which to brush the hair on dog's legs. By brushing upward, it gets through the hair easier and is much more comfortable for the dog.
Lhasa Apso mix Short Haircut
This is a nice length on a Lhasa Apso mix. These kinds of dogs mat very easily and keeping their hair cut short is a great way to have them always looking smart.
