Best Ear Cleaner for Dogs

So much is talked about these days on the subject of dog ear infections.  Some say it's an allergy; which may or not be the case.  Pet owner will say that the groomer got water in the ears and that caused it; that is Not likely.  Other say their dogs rub their ears in the grass and they got an ear infection.  

Canine ear infections are most commonly caused by bacteria or yeast. Ear mites will cause a problem excessive hair that is moist and dirty is an issue like moisture or wax, foreign bodies that become trapped deep down inside the canal, allergies of any source and hypothyroidism can all be contributing factors in the development of an ear infection. 

These are things to look for when you think your dog may have an infection:

• Scratching of the ear or area around the ear and doing it often
• Yellow, brownish or bloody discharge oozing from the ear
• Odor in the ear, putrid stench indicates yeast
• Redness like on fire
• Swelling and puffiness 
• Crusts or scabs on inside of the outer ear which often cake on inside hair of ear
• Hair loss around the ear from scratching 
• Rubbing of the ear and surrounding area on the floor or furniture and in the grass 
• Head shaking or head tilt is a good indicator 
• Loss of balance due to inter-ear health
• Unusual eye movements and runny eyes
• Walking in circles due to equilibrium imbalance
• Hearing loss over time due to heavy medication that did not work.

Here is a recipe I have used successfully and recommend you give it a try.
