Skin & Coat Formula Can Help!
A comprehensive nutritional supplement, Skin & Coat Formula for Dogs and Cats addresses skin and coat health in a holistic way. Unlike ordinary skin and coat supplements that contain fatty acids and a few other ingredients, this formula supplies a whole host of additional nutrients that work together to address the complex factors that play a role in supporting skin and coat health. The nutrients featured in this formula can yield several health-promoting benefits. Here are just some of the highlights of how this supplement works …
  • In addition to skin-nourishing omega-3 fatty acids, this formula contains vitamin E and zinc, which help increase the effectiveness of the fatty acids.
  • The vitamin A in this formula helps cells to grow and supports the naturally-occurring layer of oil on the skin, helping to keep it healthy and supple.
  • This formula also contains vitamin C, which supports healthy collagen development.
  • And to top it off, our new and improved Skin & Coat now contains seven different B vitamins (thiamine, riboflavin, d-pantothenic acid, niacin, pyridoxine, B12 and biotin), all of which work with the other nutrients in this formula to aid in the many complex chemical reactions required for healthy skin and coat.
If your companion animal’s skin or coat is less than perfect, try a bottle of  Skin & Coat Formula with a comprehensive line-up of nutrients that work together to help support healthy skin and a shiny coat.  (Taken from the official Website www.foodforhealthypets.com )

Are grains bad for dogs?

Learn why Dr. Jane Bicks chooses these nutritious ingredients rather than go "grain free". Go here to learn more, scroll to the audios.

Basically, all foods have some form of carbohydrate in their formula.  It is critical for the health of your pet.  Life's Abundance uses brown rice and oat groats to obtain those carbs.  What does your pet food use?  If you're feeding a no grain food, hopefully it is coming from a vegetable source.
Additionally, Life's Abundance never has and never will use corn, wheat, or soy in their formula's.  These are typically the grains that most people are concerned with as they are known allergens and are often hard to digest.
Of course, looking at an ingredient label is only half the battle.  As you will hear in the audio by Dr. Bicks, the digestibility of the ingredients has much to do with how well it was cooked.  That is something you won't find on a label.
I am glad to see that you are a concerned pet parent and want to do what is best for your pet.  However, before you decide to follow the latest trend of "no grain" foods, be sure you are buying from a company you can trust.  That is why I've personally chosen Life's Abundance and I hope you will consider giving it a try as well.

All the best, Susan Potts,

Dental Health in Pets Dogs Cats

Studies show that 98% of dogs and cats suffer from plague build up, which is the leading cause of bad breath in our pets. When you go to cuddle with your lap friend, is that what you want to smell? I suppose not! Besides just the smell, it is also harmful to their health, as it is critical to their liver, kidneys, heart, and brain. Just like humans need to care for our teeth, it is no different for our pets. Special care needs to be given, but many are concerned they may not know how to care for this health concern.

Signs of Dental Problems
•    Red swollen gums
•    Teeth coated with tarter
•    Rotten smelling breath
•    Discolored molars or canines
•    Sores on gums
•    Worn down teeth
•    Excessive drooling
•    Trouble eating

Brush
That’s right! Brush your dog’s teeth just like we brush, but DO NOT use your toothpaste for your dog’s teeth. We do not swallow our toothpaste, but a dog would have to. Human’s toothpaste is actually toxic when swallowed. The minty taste is also not appealing to their taste buds. Special dog toothpaste is edible, and will not cause them any harm. Now this is a pretty hefty task to get your dog to sit still, and let you brush away at his teeth. Then again is brushing your dog’s teeth the only way to keep your dog’s teeth healthy? The answer is no!

Dental Treats
We love giving our pets treats! When we think of giving our pets treats though, we normally think of a non-nutritious food. There are some treats which actually can clean your pet’s teeth for you. Life’s Abundance has the perfect blend of dental treats for your pet. This is a splendid recipe of harvest grains and the natural sweetness of honey, with a robust helping of Calcium and Phosphorus to support healthy bones and teeth. Parsley sweetens the breath so you get a direct benefit from this treat as well. With Gourmet Dental Treats, you'll be treating your dog's healthy teeth well while giving your dog delicious oven baked treats. The best part is that your pet will actually love getting his teeth cleaned!

Check-up
Remember how important a healthy mouth is for the overall health of your pet. Something as important as this should be regularly watched for. Open your pet’s mouth and check for the different signs mentioned previously. If two or more of these signs are visible in your pet, a trip to the veterinarian should be made to avoid further problems.
Best Wishes,

Lipomas in Dogs

I see a lot of Lipomas in my grooming business and sadly it does not have to be that way.  So what is Lipomas anyway?  Lipomas are one of the most common benign tumors found in dogs. Most often they appear in older and/or overweight dogs.  You may have heard the words fatty tumors, "growths" and often describe them as fat deposits. These are most always found  in the subcutaneous tissue. These are firm yet moveable and are painless.

If you find a lump on or under your dog's skin, have him examined by your veterinarian. The veterinarian can determine if it is a lipoma by examination and can verify it by performing a fine needle aspirate or a biopsy. Treatment for this is surgical removal, but usually it is not necessary because these growths are benign and rarely become overly large.  If the tumors are in areas that can cause difficultly in movement such as under the legs in the pit area, they can be removed.

The best preventive is the use of one simple supplement NuVet Plus
Taken from their website: Supporting your pet’s diet with a high quality food containing essential protein will add critical nutrients to their bodies.  Equally important is that the food is low on grains like corn and wheat as well as “meat by-products”. It starts with a healthy blood stream that transports the essential nutrients throughout the body, flushing out toxins and invading substances.

NuVet Plus® is a natural supplement made from the finest human-grade ingredients, is formulated in a FDA approved laboratory used to produce human pharmaceuticals.  The use of this kind of high-tech superior quality manufacturing facility is especially uncommon in the pet industry, however NuVet Labs® knows that no greater value can be placed on our beloved four legged family members.
