Toy Poodles used a Service Dogs

Meet Max, he is a service dog that belongs to a lady veteran  that served our country during Operation Desert Storm, popularly known as the first Gulf War.  A service dog as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act is any dog that has been trained to do a specific task in order to help his or her disabled owner live a more normal life. These specially trained dogs do things such as guiding the blind, pulling a wheel chair, retrieving and picking up objects to hand over to his owner and alerting the person to oncoming seizures or other medical conditions that are all common tasks performed by service dogs. They are allowed by federal law to accompany their handler anywhere they go, places like: restaurants, movie theaters or grocery stores. Access is required by law and can not be denided.  These dogs are an important extension to their handlers lives. Many people could not cope without them.  Many thanks goes to these brave little helpers.

My dog's butt smells.....

Have you ever noticed a foul odor coming from your pet’s back end?  It's most likely the anal sacs is the source of the problem. What causes it? you may ask.
Well, in some mammals, including dogs and cats, anal sacs are small pouches which store secretions from the glands between the internal and external sphincter muscles. A dog can discharge the material collected in the sac through these ducts when he goes potty, but sometimes the dog can not and it will cause issues, if it’s not a problem, you’d never have a reason to know about them. However, for some dogs and cats, anal glands can be a real health concern.  It can cause inflammation and the sacs can become impacted and infected. In severe cases, they can actually rupture. The first sign of trouble is when your dog scoots his butt across the floor.
Some dogs will need to have their glands emptied on a regular basis. While some groomers offer this service, I do not, because I feel it is really the job of a veterinarian.  I recommend that a medical professional do the procedure (referred to as ‘expressing’). If the area becomes infected or impacted, understand that the condition is very painful, and should be addressed as soon as possible. They may require pain medication, and perhaps even a course of antibiotics. For some pets with chronic cases, vets may advocate surgically removing the glands entirely.
As always, it's best to keep your pets on very healthy, safe foods and I use and recommend only one!  See details here at www.pipschoice.com

Home based business in the pet industry

Hi, are you looking for a home based business in the pet industry?

You came to the right place!

Many years ago, I too was looking for something I could do from home that would not interfere with my other chores.  I began my search just like you are doing now.  I found a really interesting company that has all the products I would feed my our dogs, so I emailed the girl who's name I found on the contact page and I was very pleased that she emailed me back and asked when was a good time to call her.  Later we talked and she answered my questions and I felt I did find exactly what I was hoping for.

Well, its been like I said, many years later and I'm still loving the products and we added new ones that both my dogs love and benefit from.  I have two standard poodles and they are 10 years and 9 years old.  They have never been sick, I have never had problems with products, as We have NEVER been recalled!  To me, that is a big plus.  So now that you are hoping I get to the fun stuff, here is my website so you can go see for yourself and please let me know you were there by filling in your profile so I can get back to you.  www.pipschoice.com  btw, my website, named after my boy Pippin!

MSM as a Supplement for Dogs with * joint pain, * arthritis, * poor digestion, * dull coat and skin issues

Facts about MSM and why it is important to many dogs as an added supplement to their diet.

Please Note:  Not every dog needs a MSM supplement if they are given a properly-balanced, natural raw diet (organic is best, but not always possible) MSM (methyl-sulfonyl-methane) supplements can be used to help treat arthritis, joint problems, allergies or hip dysplasia. Dogs that are given a typical commercial pet food should be given supplemental MSM since MSM is easily destroyed with cooking or during food storage. When choosing processed foods, look for those that are cooked using a low temperature cooking such as PipsChoice.com
So What Is MSM anyway?
MSM is the abbreviation for methyl-sulfonyl-methane which is a naturally occurring sulfur compound produced by sea plankton and found naturally in such foods as meat, fruits, vegetables, nuts, seafood (e.g. kelp) and cow’s milk. It evaporates quickly since it is extremely water soluble.
Sulfur is essential in the formation of amino acids, healthy skin, blood proteins and connective tissues. It is stored in almost every body cell with the highest concentrations found in nails, hair, joints, muscles, bones and skin.
The concentration of MSM in the body decreases as the body ages making MSM deficiencies part of the aging process. Low concentrations of MSM can result in:
  • organ
  • tissue malfunctions
  • fatigue
  • psychological
  • physical stress
Sulfur deficiency in dogs can produce joint pain, arthritis, poor digestion system, poor immune system, dull coat and skin problems.
Benefits of MSM
MSM is essential in maintaining and supporting healthy cells. MSM decreases the inner pressure of the cell and makes the cell walls permeable. Water and nutrients are able to flow into the cells while at the same time toxins flow out. Working synergistically (together enhancing each others’ function) with Vitamin C, MSM allows the body to rejuvenate cells, thereby maintaining a healthy level of cells.
Responsible for the flexible bonds between cells, it maintains healthy skin by enhancing tissue flexibility and promoting the repair of damaged skin cells. Working as an antioxidant, MSM helps clean the blood stream by flushing toxins from the cells. It acts as a “scavenger” of foreign proteins and free radicals, helping to eliminate toxins through the skin thus reducing the burden on the liver and kidneys. Allergens can be eliminated from the body more quickly, which in turn helps to reduce allergy symptoms.
The most important function of MSM is to relieve pain and inflammation. Inflammation causes cells to swell, producing pressure and pain. MSM allows fluids to pass through tissues more easily, thus equalizing pressure and reducing or even eliminating the cause of pain.
MSM Supplements
MSM supplements can help dogs with:
  • Maintenance of healthy coat and skin
  • Relief and/or reduction of some allergy symptoms
  • Support of joint and connective tissues
  • Relief of pain from hip dysplasia, arthritis or other joint problems

MSM acts as an anti-parasitic against roundworms, giardia and other intestinal worms by competing for the receptor sites on the mucous membranes of the intestines, robbing the parasites of places to attach themselves, which then are flushed out of the digestive system naturally.
Now that you have learned the importance of adding MSM to your dog's diet,
here is the best supplement that contains this vital ingredient NuJoint DS.
Why choose NuVet Lab products?  NuVet products are made in a FDA registered laboratory with natural, human-grade ingredients specially compounded to deliver the most effective nutritional health benefits. Utilizing the latest advances in medical and nutritional science, we apply state of the art manufacturing technologies to help us maintain a standard of product quality and integrity that is virtually unheard of in the pet industry.

Food for healthy pets - Best food for Std. Poodles

Charlie T eats from www.foodforhealthypets.com
If Charlie could talk to you he would say "I love the taste and my mom loves the way it makes me feel."

Charles's mom was given a trail size bag of food and asked to give it a try.  Just two days later she called and told me how much your dog enjoyed the food, she said that he eat the food and appeared to be very satisfied.  She also shared with me that Charlie when to potty and pooped in one spot, as this was not something he does normally.  He would go a bit here and a bit there, leaving poo all over the yard.  With the new food, since it is concentrated, there is more value with less food consumed and this leads to less stool clean up and it's not as gross as other poop that smells and is mushy.

Making the switch to the food Charlie is now enjoying and his mom loves for many reasons is simple.  Let's look that a few health reasons.  The difference in your pet's health, skin coat, energy level, quality life-style will improve and that means less trips to the veterinarian and way fewer vet bills.
How does it compared to other popular foods?   To give you a realistic example, 40 lbs of Life's Abundance dog food at 2-1/2 cups per day will last 68 lb. dog like Charlie 58 days, or 8.3 weeks that's $1.40 a day and isn't your dog worth it!

Now I bet you are wondering how much it would cost to make the switch yourself??  Let me do a cost/food analysis for you.  Simply go to www.pipschoice.com

Great Health & The Groomed Dog

Take the dog as a whole. You care for his health by visiting your veterinarian and getting his shots. The vet checks out the ears, eyes, feels the body for any signs of lumps, listens to the lungs and heart and perhaps draws blood to check over all health.

Your job: feed and water and make sure your pet gets the exercise he needs. Hopefully you are feeding them a premium food. Check out http://www.pipschoice.com/ for an over view on proper feeding and diet.

But do you groom them? All dogs need to be groomed either by you or a professional.

A dog's hair, long or short needs to be brushed. This helps with removing dead, lose hair from the body and makes the skin healthier.

Bathing is important as well, not to mention that they smell better. There are just as many shampoo's available for dogs as there is for humans these days, but I must warn you most shampoo's made for humans are not formulated for dog's coat and skin. One product that is, is called Eqyss. They have balanced the PH for animals, and removed any wax polymers and oils commonly found in both human & pet grooming products. Unlike humans, animals are all slick skinned. The hair follicle must be free of any residues in order to accept moisture from the air.

Toe nail trimming is a big part of grooming and not always an easy thing to accomplish. Some dogs are just bad! Take my own dog for insistence, he hates to have his nails cut and even though I am a groomer, I have a hard time with him, but it needs to be done. I my business, I will not fight with a dog that doesn't cooperate with me, It is just to hard on the old body, mine not the dogs.

Ear cleaning is something that a lot people over look until their dogs show signs of infection or they smell so bad that you can smell them coming a mile away. A great product that I use is Ear Care Formula for Dogs and Cats by HealthyPetNet. This cleans the ears by bringing dirt and debris to the surface. It eliminates odor, dissolves ear wax and soothes the ears. This to can be purchased at Pipschoice.

Long coated dogs need to be trimmed occasionally if not on a regular basis. The hair will just keep growing and will become matted. This causes all kinds of problems to the pet. Skin becomes tight, dander gets trapped down to the skin, this becomes red and sore causing with unnecessary discomfort for your pet.

So you see, grooming is a big part of a healthy dog. So grab your brush and have some productive quality time with your pet.

Until next time....

Poodle hugs,

Sue

Importance of Vitamin D

Vitamin D

Called the “sunshine vitamin” as the body can produce vitamin D when the skin is exposed to the sun's ultraviolet B (UVB) rays; Vitamin D could be considered, at least to some degree, to be a hormone. Necessary for the proper metabolism of both calcium and phosphorus; controls the absorption and levels of calcium in the blood, as well as its excretion through urination; decreases the risk of colon polyps; may help reduce the risk of prostate cancer; vital for the growth and development of bones and teeth.

Liver and gallbladder disorders can prevent the body from properly absorbing and utilizing vitamin D. Medications, such as antacids, steroids, and drugs for lowering cholesterol, as well as mineral oil, can also prevent proper absorption. Vitamin D and calcium must be maintained in proper ratios – certain diuretics can cause an imbalance.

Vitamin D has also been to linked to the possible prevention of heart attacks, heart disease, strokes, common colds and flu's. It plays a major role in regulating the calcium and phosphorous levels within the bloodstream as well.

SUSAN POTTS

Email: jnspotts@sbcglobal.net
My love for pets started at an early age. Having been around animals all my life, it only made sense that I would spend my adult years in the pet professional field. I became a pet groomer in 1992 and opened my own grooming business in 2002. I began studying dog diet and nutrition and after months of research I discovered Life's Abundance foods and became a rep in 2010. Pets are just like family members. Their welfare is important. However, they cannot take care of themselves. They depend on us for food, shelter, medical attention and affection. They give us so much love and in return it is our responsibility to give back to them. One important way is to feed them the best possible food and that I believe, is Life's Abundance. My own dogs, two standard poodles, love it and I know yours will to. Try a bag and be sure to check out all the other great products, your pet will love you for it.  Go to www.pipschoice.com to order.

Hot Spots on Dogs

"Feels so much better"   A NuVet Testimonial

Spring has arrived and my 12 yr. old Lab-G. Shep. again has to suffer from “hot spots,” which I’m afraid will kill her this year. She also has arthritis in one hip.

A groomer suggested NuVet Plus, which my dog, Samantha, has been on the chewable wafer for a good two weeks now. I noticed an improvement, after one week, in her skin condition.
She’s a happier dog because she’s back to following me around on my farm, while before she was lethargic and just worn out from scratching. She looks so good in her eyes, telling me she feels so much better. Thank you!

Tear Stains - Cause and Treatment

TEAR STAINS
Causes:

Tear staining results when the tear duct becomes clogged and eye fluid, which can no longer drain through the nose, begins to dry and crust around the eyes and face. Clogged tear ducts occur due to two factors- physical irritants and physiological predisposition. Physical irritants include dirt, dust, and occasionally parasites such as fleas. A multitude of other particles can physically block the tear duct, while a blockage can also occur due to allergies. Many breeds, however, are physiologically predisposed to blocked tear ducts. This genetic eye construction is common among smaller breeds including Maltese, Cocker Spaniels, Bichon Frise, and Chihuahuas. Long haired breeds such as Lhasa Apsos and Sheepdogs also tend to suffer from tear staining as hair hangs into the eyes causing scratching and irritation.

Teething puppies may also suffer from tear staining, which is common, as constant chewing increases eye fluid production and also puts pressure on the tear ducts causing them to close. As puppies mature, the problem typically resolves itself.

Symptoms:

Symptoms of tear staining include highly visible brown staining of the fur and a crust surrounding the eyes. Other behavioral symptoms include constant pawing or rubbing of the face and can be accompanied by redness and yellow/green discharge if the tear ducts have become infected due to blockage. Yeast infections may occur and are characterized by redness and swelling around the eyes, itching, and a yellowish discharge that will have an unpleasant odor. Other symptoms are fleas which may block the tear ducts, or teething particularly among puppies.

Complications:

While tear staining issues are mostly cosmetic, if left untreated tear staining can result in severe and costly infections. Infections of the eye are extremely serious as they can lead to irreversible conditions such as blindness or cataracts. Scratching of the eyes due to irritation can also pose issues including lacerations of the eye or the spread of infection. It is important to treat tear staining as soon as possible to prevent further complications.

Prevention:

Proper hygiene is important particularly if your dog is predisposed to tear staining. Proper grooming and trimming of the hair around the eyes and face will help to keep the area free of additional irritants. Other irritants, such as allergies, can be prevented by removing triggers from the environment. Household cleaners and chemicals tend to aggravate allergies and worsen problems such as tear staining.

In addition to regular grooming, proper nutrition is extremely helpful in preventing tear staining. A qualified diet consists of giving a high quality dog food and a vitamin supplement; both paramount to your dog’s immune system. Feed your dog food that isn’t filled with grains and “meat by-products”- this will have multiple benefits, including stopping allergies which irritate the eyes. But dog food alone isn’t enough; supplementation is a vital component to keeping your dog healthy. Giving a high quality supplement can help boost internal defenses and provide nutrition for blood, bones and skin.

Treatment:

Fundamentally, the first line of any remedy is to ensure your dog has a proper diet and balanced nutrition. Providing good food that is full of quality protein and low on grains, corn, and “meat by-products” will ensure a healthy digestive system and strong immune system. Supplementing your dog’s diet with a vitamin supplement engineered to support vital organs will prevent the damaging effects of free radicals and aid in the treatment of tear staining and its causes.

As with any vitamin and nutritional supplement, the quality of ingredients in combination with the manufacturing process determines how effective it will be for your pet. NuVet Plus® contains quality Calcium and Blue Green Algae, a source of protein and chlorophyll. It also includes a full range of amino acids, such as L Methionine- essential to help detoxify the blood stream. Keeping the bloodstream clean allows red blood cells to carry nutrients vital in defending against infectious tear staining.

As every dog is different, results will vary based on a number of factors including genetics, environment, and severity of the condition being treated.

At NuVet Labs®, we combine the finest human-grade ingredients and manufacturing operations approved for human products by the FDA. The end result is the finest supplement for your dog – one that will boost your dog’s immune system, enabling them to more effectively combat their tear stains.

NuVet Plus® is 100% guaranteed for purity, safety, and effectiveness. As one of the oldest and most respected companies in the pet industry, NuVet Labs® pledges that our NuVet Plus® product will eliminate or dramatically reduce your dog’s tear staining within 60 days, or we’ll refund your purchase.

Using Essential Oils for you and your pets

Thinking about using essential oils?  I did that years ago and now I am happy to say that I finally found the right company to trust.  Not all oils are the same in purity and quality.  So how do you now which one to trust?  The answer came to me when I was doing some research about them and found a very interesting article.  Hospitals are now using essential oils and since they took the time to do the investigating I figured that was good enough for me.  So you may be wondering which company I chose to become a member with - right?  well, it's Young Living.

This from the YL site: Young Living prides itself on offering the purest and most effective essential oils possible, and we are often asked if our oils are certified organic. At Young Living, we don’t just rely on others to verify the purity of our oils. Testimonials for Life's Abundance Pet Food

Best food for your pets

We were using Purina Pro Plan for all of our dogs (We breed and have many dogs). We thought this was one of the best foods, but it turns out that it is actually pretty bad. I started Vet school and started learning about nutrition and how to actually read the food labels which entail more decoding than it seems as most people aren't aware what things like "by product" mean. I did some research through professors and school text books as well as online to find that Life's Abundance is one of the best foods. They are very forthcoming with their nutrition information. Their food does not contain by product. After having our dogs on it for a few months we started noticing shinier coats, less stool as the food contains no fillers which means that their bodies are absorbing all of the nutrients from the food and there is very little waste unlike store foods which are full of fillers and unnecessary and disturbing products. The stool is also more consistent. They have better breath, whiter teeth, more energy, and in 2015, we had NO...ZERO vet visits due to illness. They only got routine check ups and the Vet himself was very surprised at the difference of the dogs he's known since they were puppies and now recommends this food after some of his own research. Yes, there are breeders and people who branch into the marketing and are commissioned on the food, but this is truly one of the best foods your pets can have. They eat less since it is full of nutrients and not fillers which usually ends up being the same cost when you buy 3 other brand bags and in that same time you only use ONE life's abundance. They also donate a portion of every sale to animal shelters in need of financial assistance, they make less food and go off of orders as they only keep their food for 6 weeks, where most other foods are almost a year old before they hit store shelves. They also have their own nutritionist and in house Vet's who change the formulas with new findings that are verified to ensure that the food only contains what is necessary for the animals. Also, pets on a proper diet such as this one, will live much longer than a pet who is on regular store food. Pet's health is one of the most important things to me and knowing how simple it is to give that to my pets is a no brainer. **They have never had a recall on any of their products**

Awesome service and great product!!

Love the dog food and all its excellent and natural ingredients. Our dog just radiates health and his shiny coat just amazes me. Even our vet asked what I was feeding him that just makes him radiate healthiness. I would recommend this dog food to everyone in a heartbeat. It's worth every penny and I would not change it for anything. I just wish I had known about it before.
- Elizabeth

Wonderful Catfood!

For years now I have been feeding my cats the Life's Abundance cat food...both dry and canned. My cats have never been healthier. My daughter brought her cats when she moved in with me...their coats were dull and dry as were their eyes. After several months of eating Life's Abundance, their coats were shiny and their eyes bright. More energy and obviously happier kitties all around. The kitties also really love the kitty vitamins and kitty treats.

The little Yorkie

The little Yorkie is a sweet, loving pup.  They are great companions for just about anyone.  The Yorkie does need regular grooming about every 4-6 weeks which depends on the coat care they receive at home.  Their hair will continue to grow and can become very matted.  Keeping a pet in a short style is better if you do not have the time to brush and comb.

Hidden mats on a poodle

This shows the hidden mats inside the coat of a poodle.  When brushing, it is easily understandable why people think they are doing a good job.  Most mats start deep down near the skin and they start to pull that skin, which can cause all kinds of irritants; dry and flaky, raw and sore.  In order to maintain a nice healthy coat, dogs need to be brushes and combed out more often.  If you don't have the skill and time to do that at home, then a more frequent grooming schedule is needed.

Flint River Ranch Pet Food - what next?

The Flint River Ranch pet food company is no longer making pet food.  So what do you do now????

I am sure you are just like me when it comes to your pet's health.  You want to give the very best in way of nutrition to your dogs and cats.  You trusted a company to bring you high quality products right to your door and Now they are no more.

Years ago I was searching for the best I could give to my boy Otis who has now gone to rainbow bridge.  He was a big black lab with a heart of gold.  It only made sense to feed him great foods, treats and give he chew bones and that's when I found Flint River.  A few years later, I was on the internet looking again.  I guess I'm always on the quest for better products.  I came across a company called Life's Abundance and read through their website; I was very interested but I was a rep for FRR by this time so I forgot about the LA company.  A few days later I get this call from a very nice lady asking me if I recommended pet food to my clients - I did, so I told her that even though I was interested in what she told me about LA and Dr. Jane the formulator, I had to decline on her offer.  About two months went by and she called me again, and just asked if she could send me a few samples (who doesn't like free samples?) so I said sure.  A few days later, I got this box in the mail and it contained several samples of the food, a few of each treat and some supplements along with information sheets on each product.  Well, the true test came when I offered these to my dogs; Otis and my new baby standard poodle Pippin.  I could not believe my eyes, those dogs that loved FRR so much now are gobbling down this new food.  I had to do some serious thinking...... The next day I called Judy and told her "OK, how do I sign up?"  I became a rep, named my website after my boy Pippin www.pipschoice.com and the rest as they say - is history.

Fastwardword to now, Flint River is closed, many faithful pet owners are asking what next.. I think by now you know my answer ---- the choice is clear.  Order Life's Abundance here at my website and I will help you along the way when you have questions, concerns, help with auto ship, be informed when we have new products come out and so on.

Flint River Ranch Pet Foods closing company

From an official newsletter:
"It is with heavy heart that I have to announce the closure of the Flint River Ranch Company at end of business today; February 15, 2016.   We have tried to overcome our challenges for these past 2 months, but we have been unable to garner the necessary support to return to normal operations as we had intended.
We thank our customers and cadre of Flint River Ranch Independent Distributors for their support and loyalty over these past 25 years. We have loved being a part of your pets lives and in a small way, making an impact on strengthening the nutritional offerings by this industry. Most pet products offered are much better now than where they were when we first started, we’d like to think that we were part of this improvement.
All official orders submitted to the Flint River Ranch Company before today have either been shipped out or we are in the act of canceling and refunding that order. If you ordered through a FRR Independent Distributor, you will need to contact them directly to find out the disposition of your order in question. Flint River Ranch can only be responsible for the official orders that we have actually had processed into our order system. Logging into your “My Customer Account” link at the foot of this page will take you into the Flint River Ranch data base where you can research to see if you have an order that has been “shipped” or “voided”. All voided orders either have been or if just received, will be refunded. Automatic shipments that were on file, we had product for and were to ship by this Friday, have been processed for shipment.
I know that this is a shock and extremely disappointing to so many of you. We hate that we have made it more difficult on you for finding your pets nutritional needs. We are truly sorry for this difficulty.
We all wish to extend our gratitude to all of you for allowing us to be a part of your pet’s life…we have taken that responsibility very seriously over these years.
Warmest regards,
Jay P. Margedant

Dog and Cat Supplement - What's the scoop?

The retailers and manufactures are always developing ways to sell more supplements.  The largest trend in dog and cat supplementation is targeting specific conditions such as digestive, skin/coat, hip and joint, as well as dental and eye. All dog and cats, from puppy and kittenhood to elder pets benefit from taking in supplements.  The makers are now making supplements for pet's age and breed types in forms of chewable and liquid.  There are so many choices to choose from.

Now let's look at what is in some of these supplements.  Just like human supplement, there are bad, good and the best.  Things you need to look for is - the use of human grade, natural ingredients. Made in the USA in a human FDA laboratory.  Cold processed to retain each ingredient's rich nutrients.  Strengthens your pet's immune system.  Natural vitamins, minerals, amino acids, antioxidants.  Safe for animals of all ages, including pregnant females. Formulated to provide everything your pet needs for perfect health.  Every ingredient is microscopically tested to assure quality and maximum potency. A guarantee if you are not 100% satisfied, you get your money back.

Check that you are not buying supplements that include sugars, artificial ingredients, heat processed that destroys essential nutrients.

A great supplement does not have to be make specificity for a breed, it does not have to be make for specifically for age, it's does not have to be specifically for a particular disease.  If for example you are looking for a supplement to target joints and bone, then you will what to get one with the important MSM, Glucosamine, Chondroitin, Vitamin C (Ester-C).

Now you can intelligently look at labels for the Best supplements for your pets.

Here's a shortcut to see what I personally give my dogs.  The Best Supplement

Based on many studies and reports and have even won the best supplements for dogs and cats by
Dog Fancy Magazine.

HIGH-QUALITY PROTEINS

Protein is essential for all body functions, including those of the brain, heart, muscles, skin, skeleton and others. This healthy dog food contains at least 30% high-quality multi-source proteins.

Turkey Meal
Turkey meal is the first ingredient in this natural dog food recipe. Some foods contain whole turkey or turkey parts, which naturally contain a fair amount of water. We use turkey meal because most of the water has been removed, making it a concentrated source of protein. This means that there is a greater “protein content” in one pound of turkey meal versus one pound of whole turkey or turkey parts. Turkey is also a good source of iron, zinc, phosphorus, potassium and B vitamins.

CALORIE CONTENT (calculated): Metabolizable Energy (ME) = 3,884 kcal/kg, 501 kcal/cup.

Chicken Meal
Chicken is a high-quality source of protein and rich in potassium and calcium.

Eggs
Eggs are considered a complete protein source, providing essential amino acids, vitamins and minerals. Eggs also contain healthy fats, such as omega-6 for healthy skin and a glossy coat.

ANTIOXIDANT SYSTEM

A dog’s body is designed to create only a certain amount of antioxidants on its own. That is why we cannot over-emphasize the importance of antioxidants. This healthy dog food contains an antioxidant system including guaranteed amounts of vitamins C and E.

Fruit and Vegetables
This nutritious food includes healthy potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, celery, cranberries, blueberries, broccoli, beets, parsley, lettuce, watercress and spinach.

HEALTHY FATS

Chicken Fat
We believe the primary fat source in dog food should be animal based because canines derive significant nutrition from these fats. While vegetable oils may sound healthier, dogs actually need the specific nutrients found in animal fats that are not available in vegetable sources. Additionally, there’s great variation in the quality of animal fats, so be sure to verify that the source is species-specific (like “chicken fat”, not “animal fat”).

Omega-3 Fatty Acids
The benefits of essential fatty acids are well known, as omega-3s are some of the most extensively researched, naturally occurring nutritional ingredients in the world. The guaranteed amount of omega-3s in Life’s Abundance dog food helps support healthy skin, shiny coats and overall wellness.

Other Healthy Fat Sources
This dog food also contains flaxseed meal, fish oil and eggs, which are excellent sources of healthy fats.

FIBER & CARBOHYDRATES

We carefully selected sources of fiber and carbohydrates that also contain protein, B vitamins, iron, zinc and other minerals. They also provide the kind of carbohydrates that deliver sustained energy to your dog. We include the natural goodness of field peas, sweet potatoes, dried tomato pomace, carrots and celery in our Life’s Abundance grain-free dog food.

OTHER KEY INGREDIENTS

Prebiotic Fiber
This nourishing food contains the prebiotic fructooligosaccharide which is found in plants. This non-digestible, fibrous ingredient acts to feed the good bacteria in the digestive system.

Probiotics
Probiotics are good bacteria and help support healthy immune and digestive systems. Unlike other pet food companies, we guarantee the amount of four different health-promoting probiotics in our dog food.
