Rat Terrier (my spoiled grand dog)

This is Jenna, she is a very spoiled Rat Terrier. I can say that because she belongs to my daughter. Jennabug, as I like to call her, has been living a hour away from me for the past year. Next week she and her family will be moving into their new home just a short 20 minutes away. Jenna and the Brothers Poodle will yet again be seeing a lot of each other. We are all looking forward to that.

A picture of yet another satisfied customer. Liz wrote to tell me.... "Here's picture of my cat Thomas. He just loves the pet food you recommended. He's more playful and alert. Each morning, as soon as I get up, he's meowwing at me and leading me to the cabinet where I keep his food. If I stop following him, he turns around and meows in a tone that means business."
What food is making Thomas a demanding feline you may ask? Well, It's Instinctive Choice of cource.
Instinctive Choice is formulated to provide your cat with a meal that is similar in nutrition and moisture to how a feline would feed in the wild.

Australian Shepherd Grooming

This is Max, he is a 6 year old Blue Merle (color) Aussie.
Full Grooming for an Australian Shepherd should be done every 6- 8 weeks. Weekly brushing is very important to keep the coat free from mats and to help distribute the sebum oils.

Tools needed are: Pin and Slicker brushes, wide tooth and standard steel combs (Greyhound), scissors, toe nail clippers, shedding rake, shampoo and coat conditioner. I also like to use the Blueberry facial on Aussie's to help keep their faces nice and bright.

NuVet Plus endorsed by The Stuffed Poodle Gang

These wonderful stuffed animals which happen to be poodles by the way, sit on my desktop here in my office. The bottle of NuVet Plus is here too and every morning my dogs start their day with a NuVet wafer.
The black poodle on the left and the black & white one on the right are very old. I was very happy to find them at an antique shop. I get lots of poodle items from my customers and friends at Christmas time as gifts.

West Highland Terrier Puppy

My name is Bobby
Small and Shaggy, Peppy and Fun
Intelligent and Proud
These little guys may look cute and cuddly, but the Westie would much rather be running, jumping, playing and barking than sitting around on some chair looking regal.
Puppy grooming should start as soon as possable to get accustom to the world of looking good. This is not only important for the appearance of your new puppy but also for his health and well being. Terriers can have an odor problem when not cleansed and groomed. It is also important to maintain a healthy coat so that mats don't get bad that can often lead to skin problems. To ensure your Westie stays healthy start him on NuVet Plus.
Grooming: Moderately High
Full Grooming should be done every 4 - 6 Weeks
West Highland White Terriers have a double coat. The outer coat is wiry and the soft undercoat is moderately dense and guarded by the outer coat.
Most owners that do not show their dogs will choose to have their Westie clipped using a blade to shorten the body hair. The legs, tail and head are shaped with scissors.
Tools needed are:
The slicker and pin brushes, metal combs, scissors, thinning shears, clippers and blades, toe nail clippers and file, mild shampoo, ear cleaner.
This breed commonly has dry skin so a mild shampoo like oatmeal is good for monthly bathing. A whitening shampoo is great for keeping a westie bright and white. A blueberry facial is a gentle, lightly foaming facial cleanser that soothes and balances. It has natural exfoliating activity and is slightly hydrating. Helps remove dirt and unsightly tear stains, as well as stains around the mouth. Gentle on the eyes. Ask your groomer for a Blueberry facial your pet will love you for it.

Yorkshire Terrier * Grooming for the Pet*

My name is Ruby Here is Ruby, she is such a sweet little girl. Yorkie's need regular grooming to keep their hair in good condition. I suggest every 4 weeks if you are going to keep this coat in a long or short style. A clipped coat needs daily to weekly combing and brushing. This is something that is very important to do at home, plus you and your pup develop a special bond when you fuss over them. Topknots are usually pulled back off the forehead with a small rubber band and ribbon. Full show coats need hours of grooming that is why not many owners of the non-show dog keep them that way, it's just to much work. Yorkies should have their teeth cleaned regularly to maintain a healthy mouth. Nails must be trimmed often for comfort, they have such little toes. This breed sheds little to no hair and makes for a wonderful pet to allergy suffers that love dogs.

NuVet Hot Spot Dog Shampoo with Tea Tree

Do you have a pet that suffers from Hot Spots or any other skin problem? If your answer is yes, get instant relief from hot spot itching with NuVet Labs Hot Spot Tea Tree Shampoo. It is especially formulated to give dogs fast relief from hot spots, itching and dry flaky skin resulting from specific and non-specific dermatitis. Flea, pollen and food allergies, grass fungus, body odor and other skin problems can be controlled with the use of NuVet Labs Tea Tree Shampoo.

Tea tree oil is an essential oil obtained by steam distillation of the leaves of Melaleuca alternifolia, a plant native to Australia. The oil has beneficial medical properties such as antiseptic and anti-fungal actions. Recent studies support a role for tea tree oil in skin care and treatment of various ailments. Tea tree oil is also effective for treating insect bites like fleas and ticks. On a resent trip to Tennessee I was bitten by a tick, luckily we were on our way home so as soon as I walked through to door I reached for my bottle of Tea Tree Oil. The bite mark was gone in just a few days and I did not suffer from any skin problem. This stuff really works great. Many pet supply companies use Tea Tree Oil in their products. Give NuVet Hot Spot Shampoo a try, your dog will love you for it.

Collie Chow Mix Summer Hair Cut

My name is Jodi

Meet Jodi; she is a Collie Chow mix. This dainty little girl has very thick fur so her mom likes her short. I shave the hair on her body with a close blade starting just past the last vertebrae on her neck. I blend the neck hair down to meet the body. This leaves a fuller neck and chest for balance. Under her chest, I scissor an angle to make the appearance of a skirt. I then trim the front leg hair on a diagonal. Jodi's tail is trimmed to add balance to her new hair cut. See how happy she is after her day at the spa.

Standard Poodles Love to Play

Pippin loves to play. His favorite thing to do is to play with a ball. He will carry one over to me and drop it, then he backs up and will stare at me until I pick it up and throw it. This is a game we play every day. He is one of the fastest dogs I have every had. Just look at where his feet are in this one picture. The picture of the one with the frisbee was taken last year. He enjoys playing with that as well and he jumps so high it's like he is flying. Flying Pippin picture coming as soon as I capture one on my digital camera.

Grooming The Beagle

My name is Short Dog
The Beagle is a medium-sized dog with a height of 14-16 inches for males and 13-15 inches for females. They are a member of the Hound Group. There are two height classes of beagles in the AKC, the 13-15 inches tall and under 13 inches tall. Their average weight is 22-25 pounds.

Grooming the Beagle's smooth short-haired coat is very easy. Brush the coat with a firm bristle brush, and bathe with mild shampoo. I like to use an oatmeal shampoo to help soothe the skin as well as eliminate odors. This sturdy little breed is an average shedder so I also will use the FURminator treatment to help with all the hair. The ears are carefully cleaned and checked and the nails are trimmed.

The beagle can be prone to heart disease, epilepsy, eye and back problems so to protect them use NuVet Plus.

Shaved Pomeranian Before & After Pictures

Coat care for the Pomeranian requires daily or twice weekly brushing. This essential to keep the thick, plush coat, which sheds seasonally, free of mats. Brushing also helps to prevent dry skin and dandruff. A Pomeranian's coat needs very little trimming only every now and then to shorten the hair around the feet and bottom. Some people prefer to keep the coat short and trimmed, often referred to as a "puppy cut" (hair is clipped down to one to two inches long) or a smoothie (shaved very short).
