Springtime is a great time to go for a new look. Here is Pippin with a very modified continental clip. I say "modified" because just passed the mid back line behind the last rib the hair is shaved off except for two rosettes over the hipbones. All the hair in front of the last rib is the mane or ruff and this is scissored into a round ball-like shape.
I will not take the hair as short as the Continental clip on Pippin because he is not a show dog. He would need a lot more growth to even look like it should. I just like to play around with shaping because this helps keep my scissoring skills sharp. It's fun to play and he loves to show off. See, he is winking at you.
